Ours is a social service organization that has been serving the socially challenged children in the sphere of education, healthcare and nutrition for the last 50 years. We are a community based organization focussed on all round development of children who are the most vulnerable section of the population and yet are denied their basic rights of education, nutrition and healthcare.

Our Programs

  • We provide free elementary education to the children of red light areas, street children and child labourers.
  • We provide facilities of dance, music, dramatics, yoga etc. as therapy to build them up healthy in mind. The children in the various residential homes are given exposure to cultural programs, co-curricular activities, lesson on etiquettes and grooming, sports activities in addition to academics.
  • We provide vocational training with the objective of rehabilitation.
  • We organize health check-ups and literacy campaigns for mothers including awareness regarding health, hygiene and sanitation
  • We provide counselling for teenage girls and boys
  • We offer various paediatric therapies (occupational, speech, physio and play) under one roof at "Prabir Kanungo Centre for Childrens' Socialization".

Our motto is to break all barriers of language, socio-economic status, cast, religion and gender in the development of children as able and enlightened citizens of this country. We have a dedicated and committed team of workers who are working round the clock to bring joy into the lives of children lost in the gloom of deprivation and despair.

Bengal Service Society believes that each child irrespective of socio-economic, ethnic, cultural or intellectual background has its own potential. Given the right environment and adequate opportunities, these children are capable of remarkable achievements.
